This biennial plant grows to about 1 meter in height. It has sparse fine feathery leaves and pinkish/white flowers, which are followed by green seeds.
Consituents: Linalol, decyl aldehyde, borneol, geraniol, carvone, anethole among others.
It has been used for digestive upsets, gripping pains, anorexia and flatulence. In Chinese medicine the whole herb is used for dysentery, piles, measles, nausea, toothache and for painful hernia. Also used as a domestic spice.
