Pine essential oil has a fresh forest smell with pleasant balsamic, sweet, spicy undertones. It is known for its beneficial effects on muscles and joints and the respiratory system.

This evergreen tree can grow up to 40 metres in height, has a brown-reddish bark, brown cones with long stiff needles that grow in pairs.
The young macerated shoots are added to the bath for nervous exhaustion, circulatory disorders, slow healing wounds, arthritis, rheumatism and skin disorders. The American Indians used it to prevent scurvy, and to stuff mattresses to repel lice and fleas.
