Orange Bitter essential oil has an aroma that is a cross between the sweetness of oranges and the bitterness of Grapefruit. It is a soothing and refreshing oil known to soothe the emotions and digestive system. It shares many of its properties with Orange Sweet, Petitgrain and Neroil.

This evergreen tree can grow up to 10 metres in height, has green oval glossy leaves and white fragrant flowers. The fruit is smaller and darker in colour than the sweet orange.
History
Oranges and lemons act as a good anti-coagulant for the blood, are beneficial for palpitations, scurvy, jaundice, bleedings and heartburn. In Chinese medicine the dried bitter orange and occasionally its peel are used in the treatment of a prolapsed uterus and anus.
