How Essential Oils can help lift mental fog

Whether you’re distracted by the day-to-day interruptions of life or you are struggling to knuckle down to the task at hand, here’s some tips for using Essential Oils to help erase cluttered thoughts, clear your mind and focus on the important stuff.

Lemongrass helps to cut through mental fog and see things clearly. Just 2 drops in a vapouriser or on a tissue and inhale. Not to be used if asthmatic.

Spearmint is so much fresher than Peppermint, and will make the brain stand up and listen. It can be inhaled on its own or with an equal amount of Lavender to give it subtle warmth. Blending these 2 oils into a 10ml Glass Rollette with a base oil (around 6 drops of essential oils) creates the perfect handy solution to last minute brain freeze.

Rosemary, the oil of choice when it comes to enhancing memory and concentration. Blended with a little Grapefruit in a base oil and massage around the neck and shoulders will help awaken and clear the mind as well as lift the mood.

The fresh, warm, spicy scent of Clove oil blends beautifully with zesty Tangerine – equal amounts of each oil. This blend will help to strengthen mental weakness and allow for more vision, helping to build confidence. This blend can be vapourised or inhaled from a tissue or Nasal Inhaler.

Blending 2 drops of May Chang, 2 drops of Mandarin and 2 drops of Peppermint into a base oil and massaging over the back, neck and shoulders will help to lighten heavy mental load and improve focus.

Sweet Basil gives an earthy herby alternative – for those who don’t like citrus oil blends. Great with either equal amounts of Sandalwood or Lavender to help provide clarity and slow your pace a little. Basil will help to relive mental fatigue whilst calming the mind.
