Although once native to the Himalayas and China, Walnut is now grown in all temperate countries for is timber and edible nuts, with the USA remaining the largest walnut producer. Its trees can exceed 30 metres in height and bare groups of green fleshy pods which contain the nut itself.

The oils itself is a deep golden brown and is obtained from the kernel. Walnut Carrier Oil is an excellent emollient with moisturizing properties for dry, aged, irritated skin. Particularly good for sunburn or superficial burns. It relives itching, peeling and when applied to the scalp can improve dandruff.

Walnut Oil is a popular choice in cosmetic manufacturing, particularly in anti-ageing products due to its rich, emollient properties which replenish the skins moisture.

Walnut Oil is also credited with being a balancing agent for the nervous system, as well as protection for skin cells and helps to prevent the thickening and blockage of arteries. It can help stave off rickets, and has been known to be used as a mild laxative.

Walnut Carrier Oil is suitable for aromatherapy massage, and is usually preferred when blended with another Carrier Oil to thin its consistency slightly. Once on the skin Walnut Oil absorbs at average speed, leaving slight oily feeling on the skin.

Shelf Life: Users can expect a shelf life of 12 months with proper storage conditions (cool, out of direct sunlight). Refrigeration after opening is recommended.

Cautions: Persons with nut allergy should not use this oil.

Storage: It is recommended that cold-pressed carrier oils be kept in a cool dark place to maintain freshness and achieve maximum shelf life. If refrigerated, bring to room temperature before using.

Blend 20% Walnut Carrier Oil with 80% Sweet Almond to create the perfect Massage base.

Walnut Oil added to your night cream will add an extra boost of skin-nourishing essential fatty acids to help restore skin cells and replenish moisture.

Walnut will act as a great scalp treatment for dandruff or a dry, irritated scalp. Apply, massage into the scalp and leave for 30 minutes. Wash as normal.
